Back In Rhode Island

Writer: Barbara SeithBarbara Seith

I arrived home on Saturday 2/1 but did not go out birding -- honestly it was a long trip. I am working on my blog posts by going through 10K+ photos and trying to verify my sightings. I'm waiting for a list of confirmed sightings from BirdLife South Africa -- but it's been over a week and nothing except a "Be patient" post yet. Pelagics in the area we went to do not always have a confirmed ID -- soooooo frustrating!

I was greeted home by a real treat on Sunday -- a lovely visit with a Bobcat in West Kingstown -- I had just pulled in and was setting up my eBird list when I heard Mammal breathing. I assumed it was a Coyote -- it was not. The very cooperative Bobcat give me a LOT of photos and a video. Some other new year birds at a brook nearby as well.

Monday I decided to make the trek down Moonstone Beach to see the Tundra Swans & Canvasbacks. I always had a lovely sunrise and morning on the beach...
