Banding

Writer's picture: Barbara SeithBarbara Seith

I realized today when I finally got a photo of me releasing a catbird (what else?) at a bird banding session during my trip to Block Island that it's been over a week and I haven't posted about it yet. What an amazing experience! Birds are so light and tolerant of us (to some extent, but when you open your hand, they fly!). If you EVER have the chance to do this -- you must!

Very close up looks at a Red-eyed Vireo, Golden-crowned Kinglet, Brown Creeper, House Wren, Winter Wren, Carolina Wren, Gray Catbird (my release), American Robin, Eastern Towhee, Swamp Sparrow, Ovenbird & Gray-cheeked Thrush. Amazing - some photos below.
