Well Spring is really here and Migration is underway albeit a bit early. Tuesday was a great day because I finally got to photograph a Northern Waterthrush at Roaring Brook & they have an accessible trail that I had never walked --- so I walked it. It was very birdy and easy to walk. I will do that again.

Saturday dawned gloomy & misty but I bit the bullet and took a walk at Trustom Pond anyway -- leaving my camera in the car. I got a little wet, but not too bad -- two year birds -- Least Bittern & an early Willow Flycatcher. Then off to a new place for me in Smithtown - Stillwater Scenic Trail, where I pulled up, got out of the car and a fellow birder was pointing at the target bird!

I started Sunday morning at Succotash Marsh -- nothing new, but a Coyote & an extraordinary visit with a Clapper Rail -- normally very reclusive and stealthy -- but it just swam across the channel right in front of me. Then a visit to the Great Swamp and my first official beach sit at Quonnie -- the Horseshoe Crabs are here!
