Beautiful morning at Quonnie -- no Whimbrel and the dead Great Shearwater is still there after three days and three reports to DEM. Was happy to have a Black-bellied Plover back on the point. We spent a long time looking at a bird I thought might be a Bittern, but we finally agreed it was a Green Heron. I never realized how similar they are from afar -- I have only seen them fairly close. Got a couple of interesting photos -- that were a mistake.
