it started with 1.5 hours of listening for Owls in the cold cold morning. I was in my car, but it was not on (too noisy). I remembered that I have a feature on my car I always thought was useless -- it is not. I not LOVE my heated steering wheel -- my hands were warm and toasty in no time. Ended with a notice that the Black-Headed Gull (Rare) was at Misquamicut State Beach (@6 minutes from my condo). By the time I got there it was gone. These @$$holes from Connecticut in a muscle car were driving into the standing flock of birds. When the birds flew the @$$holes took aim and drove into them again. What is wrong with people. Had a nice chat with my friend Sue, who had been out birding since before dawn, but I really wanted to stop going to the State Beach every day looking for that gull. grrrrrrr! Otherwise it was a lovely day -- lots of year birds and even relocated a rarity that had been MIA for 3 days.
