So yesterday was a slow birding day -- hit a lot of spots, but not a lot of activity. But today was another story!
Started out with two Barred Owls (I got photos - one very close to the road but seemed unphased by me) had a bunch of hawks, a Snow Goose and a Bald Eagle flyby. One of my favorite winter spots - Charlestown Breachway has been closed for dredging but today it was open again (a few days early -- yay). Had a few hawks there too.
Then I went to a favorite spring route and was handsomely rewarded with a 20 minute photo shoot (with accompanying vocalizations) with not one but TWO Pileated Woodpecker -- and I thought the Owl encounters were my Bird Moment of the day!
