This morning I had a mission. I wanted to see a Tree Swallow. Tiny little rocket ships with a bright blue back occupied my dreams. They have been here for a few weeks. I have been where they have been sighted, I just haven’t seen them.
Within five minutes of embarking on the trail on a sparkling morning, the sky flashes with these little rockets. I struggled as I tried to capture them with my camera.
Then one landed on a post and just stayed there.
Even as my autofocus betrayed me, he waited.
I got the shot.
Then the others dive bombed him.
I giggled.
I laughed.
I guffawed.
These tiny rockets did not disappoint.

What a great way to start the day.
