There is a flock of photographers set up at “The Light” today. Watch Hill Lighthouse. I can only assume they are birders. Thus far, for me, birding has been mostly a solitary pursuit, and likely will continue to be for the winter months. It’s cold out here! I don’t mind going it alone, and I actually prefer to start my days that way. My pre-dawn drive to The Light is my Rhode Island morning mecca. I sip my coffee. I meditate. I watch the sun rise, the sea roll, and the shore birds fly. My soul is at peace. Yes, I’m perfectly happy in this solo pursuit. When there are others, I stay in my car and stay quiet, and hope they will turn their lights out and leave me alone.
