We headed just north of Cape Town - Darling Hills - with a young man (Oli) who was job-shadowing Vince. He found me a White Stork (Lifer) before we left the city and a Brimstone Canary (Lifer) at our first stop -- much to Vince's surprise because that is a very unexpected bird in that spot at this time of year.

Confirmation at end of day that the Pelagic is not going out the next day. High winds and Cross waves are not a good combination for a fairly small boat. I'm beginning to think a pelagic in Cape Town is not in the cards for me -- this is the second attempt... Tomorrow -- West Coast National Park!
