Owls!

Writer: Barbara SeithBarbara Seith

Very early (2:30 am) tomorrow morning I depart on a long awaited trip to Minnesota to see Owls. I've seen (and heard) a number of Owls since I started birding -- I've been lucky to actually see/photograph all of the Owls I've seen in Rhode Island (see below), and some of the ones in other places. I've seen/heard 18 Owl species in total but hope to add three more in the next week - Great Grey Owl, Northern Hawk Owl and Boreal Owl. It had seen an irruptive season where we are going and we have a good shot (our guide has seen all three in the last two weeks). I am looking forward to spending a few days with Some good friends, an excellent guide & the cold weather birds to wrap up my very busy 1st quarter of travel.

Hoping you will see a lot more Owl photos in the coming week...
