Blue Coopers

For this piece we had to pick a song (or movie or other not completely visual piece of art) and come up with a color palette that was inspired by the piece. I picked Joni Mitchell's song Blue -- not to be literal because Blue (despite the album cover) refers to the emotion, not the color. We then had to pick an image from our discipline -- mine Natural Science -- and of course, I picked a bird, and colorize it with that palette. I had taken this photograph of a Cooper's Hawk that was perched on my deck about 10 feet from my desk. I love the photo in its original version, but I'm really digging my colorized version. Plus it was fun!
