Brazilian Mammals

In addition to the birds, we have a bunch of great mammals - more than I thought. I would have seen more if I went out at night -- but it's really not my good time.
Starting with Marine Mammals -- we saw two kinds of River Dolphin -- Gray and Pink, They are fast and I never got photos of either in the "wild", but on the last day we visited a place that feed the Pink ones, so they were more cooperative.

The first terrestrial mammal we saw was a Two-toed Sloth, we also saw Three-toed Sloth...

We sought out these tiny Pied Tamerin who's territory is limited to Manaus -- so we had to see them before we boarded the boat. I think they used these creatures as examples for Star Wars characters.

We saw several species of Saki (also monkeys)
Brown-bearded Saki

Golden-faced Saki (female)

Just saw one rat (so disappointing -- just kidding), but it was kind of cute. Red-nosed Tree Rat

Fiona found a bunch of bats under a dock, so she brought one up to the boat - Black Myotis

Toward the end of the trip I finally got to see a Porcupine hunkered down in a tree

The extremely loud Howler Monkeys come in two flavors - basically its about geography
Guianan Red Howler Monkey

Columbia Red Howler Monkey

The cutest Monkey in the forest -- Squirell Monkey (although they have very sharp teeth)

My new favorite Mammal the Tamandua (basically an anteater), but looks a lot like a teddy bear.

Go to the video post to see this guy in action!
