Day 2 driving Day 1 of birding

Writer's picture: Barbara SeithBarbara Seith

An early departure again today that had me on a beach in Jacksonville @10:30 amidst a flock of @150 Black Skimmers, @200 Laughing gulls & @75 Royal Terns with a bunch of other smaller birds mixed in. Next I visited a nearby marsh and was again overwhelmed by the volume and variety. So many birds and over 1,000 photos to review. I'm so tired I can't even finish the review and eBird posts today -- so I will do it after a good night's rest tomorrow.

Driving observation of the day -- You know you are in Georgia when Egrets (Great & Snowy) are road birds -- flyover, standing in a marsh next to the road or in the median.

I haven't been this far south in about 8 years and I miss it. More tomorrow, but here are a few photos from Huguenot Memorial Beach, a nearby Boat Ramp & Pine Island all in North Jacksonville.
