My current favorite bird is a Hermit Thrush. You might remember it as the subject of my most recent painting -- but I haven't seen one since mid-February. I've been relying on other people's photos for my Hermit Thrush fix... until this morning when I had my bird moment of the day with one of these lovelies. It was a day when I had to make myself go out -- dense fog and impending rain. It was worth it. Although the light was challenging (you'll see what I mean in the photos), this bird was extremely cooperative and even moved across the road to make for easier photos when I asked (yes, I asked). It spent about 5 minutes posing and talking to me. If it wasn't already my favorite bird (BTW this changes often - frequently based on my bird moments), it would be now. What a bird!
