On December 5, 2019, one of my neighbors, also a birder, gave me some of the best advice I have ever received. It was one simple sentence. Sort of a directive: Go to the Watch Hill Lighthouse.
My response: “Watch Hill has a Lighthouse?”
Oh, boy.
Does Watch Hill ever have a lighthouse!
And most mornings it’s mine all mine. It has become my winter morning place (Although this will most likely change with the seasons and the temperatures and as I explore and get to know more of the local territory). The first time I visited the Watch Hill Lighthouse, both the land and water were awash with ducks – hundreds of them. And I fell in love with them. They surround this spit of land sticking out into the Atlantic; they both claim it and are willing to share, and every single one of them is enchanting to me.
Quack!
