Two State Tango

Writer: Barbara SeithBarbara Seith

Wrapped up the Georgia portion of the trip today with visits to Maggengale Park where I had a close encounter with hundreds of Cedar Waxwings and we finally actually saw a Palm Warbler. Also got my first lifer of the day -- a Wood Stork

Wood Stork on the side of the road until a Garbage Truck flushed it.

Next up was Andrews Island Causeway which is accessed through a few pretty dicey neighborhoods, but is an amazing birding destination all drivable! Little Blue Heron - adult & immature, Tri-colored Herons and Common Goldeneye (a Rare duck down there).

Back to Florida -- Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park. Ponds & Lakes & some marshy areas featuring Common Gallinule, American Coot & Palm Warbler (doing a little dance for me) oh yeah and my first Alligator -- I didn't see it until I was processing the photos.

American Coot -- this is a tiny bird @8 inches long

This lovely Bald Eagle was along the road.

The final stop was at an Industrial Park that has lots of ponds -- Got two new Life birds -- Mottled Duck & Limpkin and my favorite Falcon - American Kestrel.
