Yesterday

I missed my first day blogging yesterday -- it was my one and only visit family day this trip. It was lovely -- we actually started the day birding. Cold by Florida standards, well southern Florida standards I actually wore my puffer vest, but I think the birds were waiting for warmth, so it was a little slow, but we still had some good birds and I saw my first wild boat.

This guy climbs the sand pile is my cousin's back yard every afternoon and announces this presence to the world... Sandhill Crane.

In the afternoon we visited the Homosassa Springs State Park -- which has both caged birds and free ranging ones.
