Switched the flight to Sand Diego very early this morning – the rental car was a big hassle and didn’t get me viability into how expensive it might be – had to call AAA. I also extended the hotel for a day…
Went back to see the Parrot Roost in the morning, yielded some better lite photos, but impossible to capture them bursting in a large group from the trees all at once.
Drove up to Orange County and was impressed with Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve where I got my last life bird of the trip – Glaucous-winged Gull.
I did a final visit to the Mudflats & Robb Field and hit Cabrillo National Monument Tide Pools briefly. Went back for some Snowy Plover pix and was rewarded with a Little Blue Heron! Verizon decided that I was in Mexico and welcomed me – weird because I was at least 10 miles from Mexico at that point – must have just hit a Mexican Cell Tower.

Off on a flight back to Boston via Philly -- a few delays and an underinflated tire out of the parking garage -- but home safe & sound
