We had another early start at LaJolla Cover – great Brandt’s Cormorant “Rookery” right next to the sidewalk, lots of Sea Lion action too!
The bird of the day Brandt’s Cormorant. There is a rookery (assuming that’s what it is called) right next to the walkway. The birds do not seemed bothered by people. Some of these are iPhone photos! Beautiful interesting birds - amazing experience hosted by Martha Wild, my San Diego bird concierge extraordinaire!
Before I get started -- this was the photo at the bottom of Catherine's street when they evacuated. Yikes!

Then we headed for Lindo Lake but we stopped at a Substation to try to bird but its marked Private/No Trespassing – so we skipped it. A short walk at a very windy Lindo Lake yielded our quarry – Tricolored Blackbird. Since she had to work, I dropped off Martha after two lovely mornings of birding.
