Lost again and happy about it!

Writer's picture: Barbara SeithBarbara Seith

Aborted attempt to bird Surfer’s Beach (weekend and lots of parking was blocked off for construction) so I headed up to Lake Casitas earlier than expected.

However, I ended up diverting a bit and going up through Foster Park – a great car bird.  Got “lost” again and 6 life birds.  Lake Casitas itself was a little disappointing – no Eagles – lots of walkers and dogs flushing birds.

On to Hudson Ranch Road where I hoped to see the Condors – but no dice.  Also lost service for a while, but I sort of knew where I was going… still next time I will remember to download maps.  Not something we think about in the NorthEast.

Pretty crappy hotel room – sink didn’t drain (plug was stuck) and the desk chair was very low and not adjustable, no luggage rack (used the ironing board) - but the bed was ok.  Still a California kind of day - three life birds - California Scrub-jay, California Towhee & California Quail. They all found me!
