I just went back to Quonnie to check on a report of Semipalmated Plovers (but NO Piping Plovers) -- didn't believe it, still don't, but there were 20 Piping Plovers -- that is six more than the previous high count this week. We are lousy with Piping Plovers at Quonnie and that isn't even my most interesting bird moment for the day.
At Charlestown Breachway and I saw two different species of duck sharing a rock -- not so peaceably. Both females, so I'm wondering if they were squabbling over a nesting site. Got some fun photos... I love birding!
